David Coverdale's Whitesnake: Penthouse, Scarborough

THE FIRST thing you notice as the band squeezes on to the small stage at Scarborough Penthouse is that David Coverdale still projects. Much much larger than life, it's like he's making his comeback in a 100,000 capacity astrodome rather than in a sweaty, sleazy little club (where long hair, denim and flares still hold sway) in a town on the Yorkshire coast.
