Disco: Sunday Afternoon Fever

THERE WERE two disco dancing championships in London on Sunday. The big one was the World Disco Dancing Championship 1978, sponsored by EMI Dancing and Thames Television. 36 individual dancers from around the world paced the stage to the exciting sounds of the Ray McVay Orchestra and Singers in the Empire Ballroom, Leicester Square. The winner got £15,000 worth of prizes and possible "stardom in the world of entertainment."
