THE GATHERING Hall, Portree, has resounded to many a meeting of the clans in the last 100 years but it can seldom have witnessed such a fervour as on the night that Echo and the Bunnymen played there. No English rock band has visited the islands before. Echo and the Bunnymen did so as part of their tour of the northern hemisphere, due to culminate in somewhat grander fashion at the Royal Albert Hall.
