WHAT A LONG, hard slog it has been for Elbow. Eighteen years in the pop trenches and still only on their fourth album. They have gone from young hopefuls to proud parents themselves, and still seemed faintly bemused to have sold out Brixton Academy – for the third time. “I’m a seasoned frontman now,” the singer Guy Garvey said. “That just means I’m old.”
