TWO SETS of calloused digits have been seen onscreen recently in movie houses large and small, strutting over the frets of a Yamaha guitar and a five-string banjo. Most people left Deliverance naively believing that this bluegrass breakdown was played by a mongoloid kid and an Atlanta intellectual who had met for the first time because of one of Burt Reynolds' macho ego trips.
