IF THE ACCORDION ever manages to rise from the underground of ethnic music as rock's undiscovered lead instrument, Flaco Jimenez will at long last be recognized as the Chuck Berry of the squeeze box. Which is roughly what his reputation's been for the last 20 years in Tex-Mex music circles in Spanish-speaking South Texas, where the liveliest accordionists this side of Clifton Chenier have been thriving since the late 1800s.
