IN NOVEMBER 1974, George Harrison's tour of America ended with a party at the chic New York disco/restaurant, Hippopotamus. It was a sweaty, crowded affair like most rock and roll parties, made, depending on how you feel about it, more or less bearable by the presence of Harrison's star-studded band, and one John Ono Lennon, former Beatle, former rhythm to Harrison's weeping lead guitar.
