George Martin, Paul McCartney & Wings: Live and Let Die (soundtrack, United Artists)

Paul Gambaccini, Rolling Stone, 20 December 1973

'LIVE AND Let Die' is the best record Paul McCartney has made since Let It Be, although 'Maybe I'm Amazed' is an equally good composition. It comes as no surprise that George Martin helped to put the Bond theme over the top; here he has translated McCartney's worded instructions into orchestral passages that convey the action and voodoo motifs of the film.
