He was a Stone Rose. Now he's a Seahorse (and Noel loves him)

Barbara Ellen, The Observer, 25 May 1997

"JOHN'S GOT a really good band there. A year from now, we're going to be talking about one of the biggest bands in Britain, without a shadow of a f—ing doubt." So says Oasis' Noel Gallagher of Seahorses, the new band formed by ex-Stone Roses guitarist John Squire. We are at the first official Seahorses show at Wolverhampton's Wilfrun Hall. While Squire loiters on the backstairs, Stuart Fletcher and Andy Watt, bassist and drummer, lounge on couches. Sitting opposite singer, and ex-busker, Chris Helme is Noel Gallagher. Strange that, as Oasis are the band regarded as the Stone Roses' Nemesis.
