LIKE ALL LAS VEGAS hotels, the Mandalay Bay is a self-contained city, comprising restaurants, bars, even a "beach," complete with electric waves: anything and everything to stop you leaving. It takes Wilco 30 minutes to get from hotel room to hotel venue. Whichever way they turn, they're back on the vast gaming floor, teeming with businessmen carrying buckets of change. Bizarrely, one bleach-blonde woman is attached to her credit card via a chain, plugging her directly into a slot machine.
