SURELY THE most surprising result at the recent "Countdown" awards was for the best debut album of last year, which went to the Hoodoo Gurus, for Stoneage Romeos. Nobody was more surprised than the Gurus themselves. Not that they don't deserve recognition: rather "Countdown" has never been renowned for its taste or discretion. Hut this time "Countdown" got it right.
