Horslips: Rainbow Theatre, London
Philip Norman, The Times, 12 November 1974
IT IS PLEASANT to report the existence of a band deserving more, rather than less, recognition. Horslips are an Irish quintet whose fondness for the legends and music of their homeland is balanced by an equal allegiance to plainspoken Rock and Roll. They have recorded three albums for the RCA label on each of which these elements have felicitously coincided; they play inexhaustible concert dates and are one of the few bands willing to appear in Northern Ireland. They have remained, even so, in that semi-obscurity too often prescribed by good musicianship and lack of pretence.
