Doris Troy Sings Just One Look & Other Memorable Selections (Atlantic 8088); Doris Troy (Apple ST3371)

Metal Mike Saunders, Rolling Stone, 7 January 1971

AH! QUITE simply, Doris Troy is a gas. A moderate one, to be sure, but she carries a lot of nostalgia. Her initial big hit was with 'Just One Look' in 1963 (later covered by the Hollies), and her subsequent album Just One Look is still a good R&B period album. Ranging from straight gospel music, to girl-group-style R&B (her hits 'Just One Look' and 'Whatcha Gonna Do About It'), to some good mouldy Sixties rock, it's a good record.
