Rolling Stone: A Day in the Life

Andrew Bailey, Rolling Stone, 15 October 1992

I RAN THE magazine's London office for five years in the early Seventies, contributing stories and acting as editor for a bunch of other writers, among them at least one American assigned full time to the office by Jann Wenner. There were half a dozen of us on the payroll, including a secretary, an ad salesman and someone to look after subscriptions. We fed stories to the home office, in San Francisco, and printed a United Kingdom edition that was identical to the original, except for a couple of pages of English material and as many local ads as we could scrounge.
