If you were born November 26, 1968, the day Cream gave its farewell concert at the Royal Albert Hall, let me stand you a legal b-day tipple. And while we wallow in this generous holiday mood, let's set up Jack Bruce, too, who recently released the most noteworthy album of his checkered apres-Cream career, one bronco torque melee of a disc titled A Question of Time (Epic). With Eric Clapton now billing himself modestly as the Journeyman, with a record that hardly justifies the title, it's now all too clear who possessed the real brains and heart of their supertrio.
