Jimi Hendrix: Stages (Polydor/CD box set only)

Edwin Pouncey, New Musical Express, 8 February 1992

SINCE HIS untimely death in 1970 guitar god Jimi Hendrix has been lauded as 'The Greatest Guitarist Of All Time'. His name has been inducted into the prestigious Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame and, rather tackily, emblazoned on a pentagram as part of the world famous Hollywood Walk Of Fame. This last 'honour' was paid for by his former US record company, partly to acknowledge the man's genius, but probably more to celebrate the fact that his music can still shift millions of units every year.
