John and Colin Mansfield: As You Were – The True Adventures Of The Ricky Tick Club

Tony Burke, Blues & Rhythm, February 2020

THE RICKY TICK Club has a permanent place in the development of British rhythm and blues and rock music. I can't recall any decent history of the music scene in the UK in the early 1960s that does not mention the club. It was a key venue which gave a budding crop of young British R&B musicians and bands their start – some of whom went on to find stardom in the 1960s and 1970s.
