John Fogerty: John Fogerty
Bud Scoppa, Rolling Stone, 23 October 1975
JOHN FOGERTY singlehandedly prepares records that are virtually perfect in execution as well as conception: brilliantly concise self-expression, captivating and broad-based radio music. Though he alone, among great rock stars, works exclusively in solitude, his music seems neither sterile nor elitist. Compared to other major pop figures, Fogerty is practically a miniaturist, but the narrow and rigidly defined formal limits in which he works serve – if anything – to make his accomplishments more impressive.
