PATTI LABELLE, Nona Hendryx and Sarah Dash. The Ordettes and Del Capris came together in the early sixties to form Patti LaBelle and the Bluebells — a moderately well known line up working in the Supremes second division along with the likes of the Chiffons and the Shirelles. 'I Sold My Heart To The Junkman' — a teenage song by teenage dreamers for teenage losers — was their biggest hit. Cindy Birdsong split to join the Supremes and better herself and the Bluebells settled for a three-part harmonic line-up working a network of bars and one-horse outlets.
