Lemonheads: Roseland Ballroom, New York City
Jason Cohen, Rolling Stone, 27 January 1994
THE SIDEWALK outside Roseland told the story: dozens of parents, a few clutching the Playbill from My Fair Lady next door, all lined up at 11 p.m. sharp to collect their young daughters. Lemonheads leader Evan Dando is perennially labeled the "alterna-hunk," but as he tours in support of his band's third Atlantic LP, Come On Feel the Lemonheads, it's clear that he's become a universal object of desire. To paraphrase Julian Cope, everybody wants to shag the Lemonheads. How many other indie grads sell posters at concerts?
