Loverboy: Rock's Five Nice Guys

Michael Goldberg, Rolling Stone, 5 August 1982

DENVER — NICE. That's the perfect word to describe Loverboy, a rock band so wholesome the Boy Scouts should consider offering it an honorary membership. As they lounge around the pool at the Denver Marriott, these friendly, good-natured Canadians are happy in the knowledge that their first two albums, Loverboy and Get Lucky, have sold nearly 3 million copies; that Get Lucky has been in the top fifteen for some thirty-three weeks; and that they'll be playing to 9000 more screaming fans this evening. As twenty-seven-year-old vocalist Mike Reno says, beaming, "Everything is really going great!"
