ONCE UPON a time — No, I'm not going to do that. It's tempting, but I really dislike record reviews that masquerade as short stories. Too often they're just too transparently clever, too obviously the work of a writer who has become prematurely infatuated with his own style. But, damn, I've listened to this record six times in a row and still haven't heard anything worth writing about...
