Mahavishnu Orchestra: Kelvin Hall, Glasgow

Ed Jones, Cracker, June 1973

WHY DOES EVERYBODY TALK ABOUT GLASGOW as if it's some kind of Clockwork Orange nightmare? In Glasgow the policemen ask you to go to the end of the queue and forget you if you don't. In Glasgow, people make jokes and talk to you in the street. In Glasgow, the concerts aim to start at eight in the evening, not midnight. At Glasgow concerts, in the Kelvin Hall at least, you can have a quiet drink in the bar if you feel like it. At Glasgow concerts there are human stewards, not ape-like bouncers.
