MARK ARM and Steve Turner are the Mutt and Jeff of distortion. He's Super Fuzz, I'm Big Muff, they'll say. Fuzz and Muff work for a Seattle outfit called Mudhoney, and the name fits. For 'Touch Me, I'm Sick' (the band's scorching first single), and then an EP named after their effects boxes. Arm, Turner, bussist Mutt Lukin and drummer Dan Peters just turn everything up, coat the guitars with a filthy shellac of wah-wah and amp gleam, and let fiy with the Mudhoney "wall of gunk."
