Neal Casal: Borderline, London

IT IS HARD not to sympathise with Neal Casal: he is surely doing this for love, not money. After seven mostly impressive albums in five years, all recorded on minuscule budgets, his cult following can almost fill the tiny Borderline. Back home in the US, he remains grateful for a bar gig.
