NORMAN WHITFIELD has always been a ghost-like character in terms of his presence to music. As a producer and writer he has always been a Svengali figure. Best known for his heavily orchestrated work with the Temptations, Whitfield was also responsible for many of Motown's lesser known triumphs of the studio.
