SATCH SATCHELL, prime mover of The Ohio Players, is standing backstage at Radio City Music Hall mumbling something to himself about "we the #1 group in the world." The observation, notable for its exaggeration, comes from behind heavy lidded eyes and might be dismissed as the pure fantasy of exhilaration if The Ohio Players did not have two platinum albums (Skintight and Fire) and a string of gold singles to back it up.
