Pat Leonard: The Song And Dance Debate

Robert Sandall, Q, February 1992

"MY BACKGROUND and my real musical desires lean far more toward Roger Waters than they do toward Madonna," Miss Ciccone's principal songwriter, keyboardist and MD, Pat Leonard, announces briskly. The next Roger Waters solo album, which Leonard played on and co-produced, he declares "the most gratifying experience I've ever had." On the subject of Waters himself, the stocky 35-year-old is equally generous. "I adore Roger. I think he's brilliant."
