THERE WAS more 'poetry' scrawled across the bathroom walls of the Boarding House than Patti Smith delivered during a two hour show there. Still, the evening at the nightclub was advertised as a "Poetry Reading". But the self-absorbed New York rock star gave an extended exercise in acute boredom.
