Splitting up one of the finest Morley-era guitar groups just as they reached the heat of their acclaim, he swapped the trappings of brash noisy guitardom for the cool polished gloss of the Casio, and joined the would be New Age of pop alongside Haircut 100, the Human League and Spandau Ballet. Set to sweep us off our feet and into the eternal dream of chartland, he left us waiting at the altar. What happened?
