Placebo: Birmingham Academy

A DECADE ON FROM THEIR CHART DEBUT — and almost as long since they were hip — Placebo have a renaissance on their hands. Their fifth album, Meds, released last month, may well be their best, their current UK tour sold out in days and their festival calendar is already fully booked. Heck, even the sulky singer Brian Molko has been spotted with a smile.
