With admissions of young people to hospital at an all-time high and worries over the psychological toxicity of Ecstasy mounting, the medical profession have good reason to be getting alarmed. The casualties are visible to us all: Elizabeth Wurtzel, Richey Manic, Kurt Cobain. And with a whole new world of psychotic sound from Tricky to Techstep refracting the malaise, it feels like we're a generation on the verge of a lot more than a new millennium...
