Remembering Alan Betrock

Andy Schwartz, The Village Voice, 7 April 2001

Andy Schwartz, who succeeded him as the magazine’s publisher and editor, here salutes his achievement and mourns his passing. Below, a brilliant stream of 1978 street consciousness from Betrock himself, live from Nassau Hospital, where he was being treated for depression, and published in the last issue of the Rocker he edited.
