Return of the Wicked Pickett
Michael Lydon, unpublished, 1977
"IVE ALWAYS WANTED to be a star," said Wilson Pickett. He clapped his hands and fell back into a deck chair behind his house in Englewood, New Jersey. His handsome face was all smile. "You know what I was looking for when I went into this business? A miracle." He laughed at the thought. "Im thirty-six now and I got started about 1959. I was seventeen. How long is that, eighteen years? Seems like yesterday."
