AS HER TOUR BUS heads across Texas on the way to the Kessler Theatre in Dallas, a song that's been running around inside Rickie Lee Jones' head for months comes to the fore, and she proceeds to sing it down the phone line to RC in London. She recorded it for Kicks, her idiosyncratic new album of covers, but it didn't make the final cut, although she may well return to it in the future.
