DENISE LASALLE THOUGHT her singing career was over three years ago. The blues-soul singer, who appears at the Long Beach Blues Festival Saturday, was a highly regarded songwriter with several R&B chart hits during the '70s. But she was released from her MCA contract in 1981 and changes in the overall musical climate sparked two years of serious soul-searching.
