Ringo: Apple to the Core
Andrew Tyler, Disc, 16 December 1972
RINGO WAS always supposed to be like that empty-headed klutz who followed Peter Sellers everywhere in the Magic Christian — a good-humoured and honourable Tonto-figure who did fine as long as you pointed him in the right direction. Off-screen, the roles of Sellers and Ringo were oddly reversed during at least one reception for the him. It was Richard Starkey who was rolling his eyes and telling the funny stories while Peter Sellers was strangely subdued.
