NO MATTER what anyone may say or think, the success of 'Hong Kong Garden' was neither predicted nor predictable. Despite its obvious instantness (primarily, of course, thanks to John McKay's echoic 'oriental' guitar figure), the band, the record company, the press and public alike were surprised by the depth of its success.
