Spector's Heirs
Robin Eggar, unpublished, April 2003
THE CASTLE PERCHES atop a hill in suburban Alhambra reached after a long and winding climb. The huge iron gates appear to have been shut forever but you can see ranks of pine trees and granite steps leading upwards. On a hazy LA day the mist clings to the turrets as if they were auditioning for a Dracula movie. Or the Rocky Horror Show.
