ON FINISHING Kitty Kelley's depressing, unrelentingly seamy His Way, you were so stuffed full of (alleged) details concerning the less admirable aspects of Sinatra's remarkable life that you were ill-inclined to listen to him sing for a while. Then 'Ill Wind' was heard on the radio or the Man And His Music 1965 TV Special was viewed and the impact of Sinatra's art put all the unpleasant business back into perspective.
