IN JAPAN, LOCAL bands copy both the look and sound of Western rockers – an imitative art form which thrives while the fans wait for the genuine item to finally tour their country. Germany, while close enough to regularly host tours of British groups, still has its share of the traditional bar bands that pound out faithful renditions of Anglo-Saxon rock standards.
