Terence Trent D'Arby: Not Just a Comeback. A Reinvention.

Amy Linden, The New York Times, 13 August 1995

TERENCE TRENT D'Arby is explaining, for what may be the umpteenth time, why he lopped off his dreadlocks in favor of a close-cropped peroxide coif. "It wasn't something as frivolous as I want to be blond," the 33-year-old singer says. "Although I'm starting to understand, at least on a certain level why — quote unquote — blondes have more fun. Dark colors are more enigmatic, mysterious and cool. Light colors are more inviting. So if your face, which is the first thing people look at, is framed by something light, it makes it more approachable."
