The stomping ground for much of the action that took place during the "Psychedelic '60s" is usually considered to be San Francisco, where bands such as The Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane and Quicksilver Messenger Service beamed out their message of mystical, peaceful revolution to the assembled flower children of the world. But the birthplace of psychedelic music was actually Texas, home of the 13th Floor Elevators.
