The Bangles: a Female Fab Four?

Michael Goldberg, Rolling Stone, 13 September 1984

LOS ANGELES — Are the Bangles the new Go-Go's? One can't help but wonder. After all, like the Go-Go's, the Bangles are an all-female rock band that plays Sixties-style, Beatles-influenced rock. Like the Go-Go's, the Bangles live in L.A. and dress as if they'd be ready at a moment's notice to take center stage on Shindig or Hullabaloo. And what's more, the two bands share a music-biz connection: one of the Bangles' managers, Miles Copeland (who also manages the Police), is the chairman of the board of I.R.S. Records, the Go-Go's' label.
