The Disposable Heroes of Hiphoprisy: Town & Country Club, London

Simon Price, Melody Maker, 28 November 1992

CHANNEL ZERO. Middle-class family with airbrushed children steps out of a Volvo. Mother takes one look at me and shouts "You need Jesus!" Torn between shamanic druidism and atheistic communism (Jesus doesn't come into it), I shake my head. "Yes, you do!" she calls after me. One nation under God? I haven't even got to the gig yet, and already I'm wondering if Hiphoprisy, now the Americans have got George out of their Bush, shouldn't relocate over here.
