The Flower Children and How They Grow
Richard Goldstein, Los Angeles Times, 28 May 1967
Richard Goldstein is a young writer with a special view of the Flower Children and their contribution to modern American culture. He has been called by Time one of the best critics of the pop culture scene. Newsweek said he has 'avoided the conventional (and) created his own journalistic discipline.' His view of the hippie-flower scene that follows is unorthodox, and one with which you may not agree. But it is almost certain to increase understanding of what some call the 'generation gap.'
