LITTLE MORE than a month and a half before the Jacksons were due to hit the stage, preparations for their summer tour were a shambles. Behind-the-scenes squabbling continued to rage as lawyers, advisers, would-be promoters and financiers jostled for the millions of dollars this tour is sure to reap. Because of the battling, nuts-and-bolts tour logistics — crucial to ensuring the safety of the Jacksons and their fans — were also far from nailed down.
