THE UTILITARIAN confines of the cavernous Manchester Apollo are abuzz with a veritable army of well-disciplined tour troopers. It's 3.30 on a particularly inhospitable Mancunian afternoon and in exactly six hours the Offspring, Orange County's leading exponents of genre-straddling punk rock nouveau, are set to transform this eerily calm edifice into a seething morass of flailing fists, teenage testosterone and high velocity formation moshing.
