The Sundays: The Warehouse, Leeds

Dave Simpson, Melody Maker, 27 May 1989

THE SUNDAYS' SECOND COMING is so utterly majestic, so unquestionably celestial, so distinctly holy, that it is too good. They are too good to be true. The problem is we don't deserve them. Us mere mortals, with our pollution, our litter, our bad manners, our belches: we are not fit for this — this snow-voice, this chorus, this deity, this love.
