The Sweet smell of success turns to Mud in the eye

NOTHING WOULD please Nicky Chinn more this week than to see Sweet topple Mud from the top of the singles chart. One would think that he and his co-writer Mike Chapman would be only too pleased to have their songs occupying the top two slots in the chart with a third (Suzi Quatro's) rising fast, but in fact there's been a great and glorious cock-up and it's causing Mr Chinn no end of embarrassment.
